The Muthtamil Sangam conducts Tamil Classes from 2002 till date for the children of Members, with the help of voluntary teachers.

Our Tamil school coordinator Senthil Nathan with his strenuous efforts introduced the new, structured and practical way to learn Tamil called “PADI MURAI TAMIL”  where children lean the language step by step with tracking of their progress.

Tamil classes are currently held at 19 Ranfurly Rd, Epsom, Auckland every Saturday afternoon
between 2:30 PM and 3:30 PM

Muthtamil Sangam tries to achieve the following objectives.

  • To equip the Tamil children with the capability to have a working knowledge of reading, writing and speaking Tamil.
  • To prepare the children for appearing in the International Tamil Exams.
  • To provide a platform for interaction with other Tamil children in Auckland.
  • To continue and carry the activities of Muthtamil Sangam into the next generation Tamils of Auckland, New Zealand
  • To facilitate the continued connections with the children roots in Tamilnadu.
  • To facilitate the capability and sense of appreciation of our culture, tradition, language, and literature.
  • To provide a sense of cultural identity and pride.
  • To enable them to develop into a cohesive social group with high values capable of mutual support and camaraderie in addition to being good citizens of their adopted motherland New Zealand.
