independanceday1_2006_07 Independence Day:
Indian Independence Day was celebrated on the 13th of August, 2006 at ANI Hall ,Pornui st Mt .Eden from 11.a.m to 3.00 p.m. Our celebration started with Mr.Ray Annamalai hoisting the Indian Flag, followed by singing "'Thaiyen Manikodi Parrier"' by everyone. The Indian National Anthem was sung after saluting our flag. Our sincere thanks to Mr.Sathya Singan for his wonderful speech on the Indians Freedom Movement. The turn out of about 100 people was a very good start . Mr. Khadiravan and Mr. Ilango conducted the debate on freedom while the games for the children were conducted by Mrs. Sashi Indiran.Food was great, children enjoyed and adults had a relaxed and an easy time.
independenceday2_2006_07 Participation in the 59th Indian Independence Day Celebration:
The 59th anniversary of Indian Independence was celebrated on the 20th of August 2006 at the ASB Theatre Aotea Centre by The Bharatiya Samaj. MuthTamil Sangam put up wonderful performance singing A. R Rahman's Vandhe Madaram. Thanks to Mr. Madan Mohan Kalyan for coordinating the event... Our special thanks to Master Vikaram, Master Shiva, Master Shrish, Tamil School children and members who participated in this event. Our performance was well received by a huge audience of approximately 2600 people.
blooddonation_2006_07 Blood Donation Program:
Blood Donation Program was conducted on the 21st of September, 2006 at 71, Market RD Epsom Thanks to all members for their valuable time and their willingness to donate Blood for a noble cause, it is deeply appreciated. There were 27 members who donated blood and it was indeed an awesome turn-out.
diwali_2006_07 Deepavali Celebrations:
Our Deepavali Celebrations on the 28th of October,2006 was a grand success. A good turnout of about 350 people joined the celebration.

It was indeed very impressive to see such a large and excited audience enjoy themselves. We take this opportunity to thank all those who had put in their time and effort into this celebration to make it a grand success. Our special thanks to The Mayor of Auckland for gracing the occasion. The Mayor in his speech highlighted that if we keep our language and culture alive. He also said that it's highly important that we don't sacrifice our traditions, language culture and the country from where we come from.

Our program was very entertaining and was well received by the audience. Mrs. Uma Prasad and group put up a wonderful dance performance for the song Vande Matharam. Sonna Narayanan and Krishna Narayanan beautifully enacted the Story of Gokula Krishna. Shivashankar Subramaniam, Vikram Subramaniam, and Shrish Lakshmanan performed an energetic dance for a latest song Loosu Penae.

The folk dance performed by Mrinal Murali,Ruchika Rajkumar,Sumedha Hariswamy was verygraceful and charming.

Pradeep Raman, received an appreciation award from Muth Tamil sangam for having been declared as the finalist and winner of the Entreprenarial competition called Spark 40K challenge 2006 award.

Mr. Ray Annamalai was honoured as the Patron of our MuthTamil sangam for his support to our Sangam since its inception. We had a good hour of Light Music Show organized by Madhan.Major sponsor for this function was Mr. Suresh Ramdoss and other sponsors are Mr.Nathan Saminathan, Mr. Ilango Krishna moorthy, Mr. Soundararajan and NZ Lotto grands.
environmentday_2006_07 Environment Project:
Conducted in the month of December 2006 by Mr. Ilango Krishnamoorthy, members of MuthTamil Sangam participated in a environment cleaning drive.
pongal_2006_07 Pongal:
Conducted on 14 of January 2007, members of MuthTamil Sangam welcomed "Uzhavar Thirunaal" with the traditional delicacy "pongal".
onedaytrip_2006_07 One Day Trip:
Our one day trip was to Glenbrook - on 11/Feb/07. The event was planned for members to be a part of the biggest steam and vintage event ever held in the Auckland region. It was an outstanding festival hosted by the Glenbrook Vintage Railway in New Zealand where there was lots of machinery of all types, including many engines from England .It was a unique opportunity to see and ride on classic British fairground equipment from the steam age.

The appearance of these magnificent, unique, and historic machines in the Auckland region was exclusively at the Glenbrook Vintage Railway. The wearing of period costume by participants and visitors was very interesting to see. All members who participated left by chartered bus from the Stagecoach bus depot at Stoddard Road, Mt. Roskill at 10.00 a.m. Lunch, snacks and drinks were provided.
twodaytrip_2006_07 Two Day Trip:
Our Family Trip with an overnight stay was held at Hunua Falls on the 17th and 18th of March 2007. The fun and activities will sure remain in the memories of the participants for a long time to come.
newyear_2006_07 Tamil New Year Celebration:
Conducted on 14th of April, with a grand ceremony and cultural festivities...
